Falco released 4 new series of products that support Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices. These products are available in both discrete modules and intergrated connector magnetics (LANJack). Falco designed these new products to support for the emerging and growing PoE market.

Falco’s PoE discrete modules are available in the 3 different series. The LV100X (single port), LV200X (dual port) and LV400X (quad port) are 10/100Base-TX transformer modules designed either for a standalone unit known as a “midspan” that connects in line between an existing data switch and the Powered devices (PD) or for Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) that integrated into Ethernet switch known as “endspan”. These PoE magnetic modules are transfer-molded as IC grade devices that suitable for infrared reflow soldering at temperatures up to 235°C.

Falco’s PoE LANJack is available in 1 series. LP100X which is a 10/100Base-TX RJ45 single port with LEDs and integrated magnetics. LP100X, designed to support for network peripheral devices that integrated PoE capability known as PD. These products provide power feeding capability over existing cabling architecture.

Falco’s PoE discrete and LANJacks provide superior EMI surpression, high voltage isolation and excellent signal integrity that meet or exceed IEEE802.3af PoE standard while maitaining power handling capability. These products are designed to support most physical layer devices having PoE capability from the leading IC manufactures.

APPLICATIONS

Falco’s Power over Ethernet LANJacks and Discrete modules are capable of handling 350mA of DC current and be able to deliver up to 13 Watts worth of 48V DC power to connected devices as far as 100m away. Such a PD can be a Remote security device, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Telephones, IEEE802.3af Wireless LAN access points, Bluetooth access points, Web cameras, Vending machines, Gamming machines, Smart signs/web signs, Audio and video juke boxes, Retail point of information systems, Building access control systems, Electronic musical instruments,Battery chargers for mobile phones, PDAs or even low power note books that can be powered directly off the PoE port.
