The Solar Central Inverters combine all DC power sources (multiple strings of panels) to a central box, where it gets converted into an AC power source connected to the AC Grid.

Here above is a Central Inverter solution. Common Mode Chokes (CMC) are present in EMC Filter blocks (both Input and output stage). AC Filter Chokes are present in DC/AC converter block.
CMCs in Solar Central Inverters application can be provided in both a copper and an aluminum wound solution. Both solutions use a ferrite core that allows to achieve a lower cost with respect to a nanocrystalline. The aluminum winding furthermore reduces the total cost. In addition, the size is reduced by using a laser welding process for the joining of the aluminum conductor.
