Solar String Inverters (output power up 200kVA)

The String Inverter is connected to 2 or 4 strings of solar panels under similar sunlight and shading conditions.

Below is a block diagram of a Solar String Inverter where electromagnetic components are key for the overall dimensions, cost, and efficiency.

DC Inductors in the DC/DC MPPT Converter Block are needed as energy storage inductors for the step-up converter. AC Output Inductors and 3 Phase Output Chokes are present in the DC/AC Inverter block to filter high frequencies and to permit a clean 50/60Hz output voltage for the grid. The magnetic components should be suitable to operate between 8kHz and 25kHz switching frequency.
